Drina river traps seven migrants near Bosnian town of Zvornik

Bosnian Border Police discovered and saved seven migrants trapped on the Drina river due to rising water levels caused by heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours, Border Police said on Tuesday.

Border Police said they discovered the migrants during a routine patrol, stranded in the middle of the Drina river, dividing Bosnia and Serbia.

“Members of the Border Police along with the Zvornik Fish Guard Society reacted swiftly and saved the migrants from drowning,” said the statement.

Zvornik Red Cross team also came to the scene to help the migrants.
