After 93 days in the hospital, 27 on a ventilator, a man from Bosnian central town Kiseljak, has won the battle against Covid-19.

Although exhausted, 50-year old Zlatko Andjelic left the hospital with a smile on his face.

He contacted doctors in June this year after recognising some of the infection symptoms. Now, he says he was late.

“Unfortunately, I think we will all have to get infected. I advise everyone to go straight to the doctor as soon as they recognise the first symptom. Don't wait for anyone, don't listen to anyone. I was waiting for ten days, and it was too late then,” he told public broadcaster FTV.

Andjelic called on everyone to act responsibly and respect the prevention measures.

He spent over three months in hospital. He was on and off the ventilator several times, 27 days in total. He survived clinical death.

“We can say Zlatko raised some standards. He experienced all possible complications one could develop while on a ventilator,” according to Dr Marko Androsevic, a chief anesthesiologist at the Nova Bila hospital.

Andjelic said he was thankful to both God and doctors for his successful recovery, adding that he wouldn't survive without medical support.
