Sarajevo ranked as most polluted city in the world

Sarajevo was the most polluted city in the world on Saturday morning, according to IQAir's Air Visual, real-time air quality information platform, measuring air quality index 191 which stands for 'unhealthy'.

According to a local air quality measurement platform, Ekoakcija, Sarajevo's air pollution stood at 259 – very unhealthy.

The Bosnian capital is followed by Sofia (188) and Russia's Krasnoyarsk (178).

Other cities in the region were less polluted this morning, with Belgrade measuring 123 air quality index (unhealthy for sensitive groups), while Zagreb was among moderately polluted cities with 83 air quality index.

At the moment of publishing this article, Sarajevo's air quality index dropped to 190, with Pristina becoming the most polluted city with 221 AQI.
