Belgrade: 26th anniversary of start of war in Bosnia marked

'Women in black' gathered in Belgrade on Friday to mark the 26th anniversary of the beginning of the war in Bosnia. Head of the Association of Families of Kidnapped and Killed Persons in Kosovo and Metohija, Simo Spasic, held his own performance and disturbed the gathering of 'Women in black'.

Stasa Zajovic, representative of ‘Women in black’, said they gathered to remind of the beginning of the war in Bosnia, the beginning of the longest siege in history of Europe after the World War I, and to remind of “fascist atrocities committed by armed units of the Republika Srpska's (the RS) Army, who were supported by armed units from Serbia”.

“We would like to point at serious manipulating with this date by regime clowns, self-proclaimed representatives of Serb people. It wouldn't be appropriate to deal with them today, but it is very dangerous that this regime allows such groups to be here at the same time and at the same place. We express piety to all victims, but ‘Women in black’ registered the gathering five days ago, in line with all legal regulations’, she stressed, warning about obstruction of “not only the process of facing with the past but of humiliation of victims and those who support the victims”.
