Veteran protesters attempt to enter FBiH Parliament

A group of veterans from the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Croat Defence Council stayed in front of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) entity Parliament building, demanding that the House of Representatives discuss their demands.

Earlier today a group of some 100 veterans gathered in front of the FBiH Parliament building just before the beginning of an extraordinary session of FBiH Parliamentary Assembly's House of Representatives whose agenda did not contain the veterans’ demands.

N1 reporter Slavisa Starcevic reports that several veterans’ representatives entered the building where they talked with representatives of the FBiH Police, but left shortly after.

When the N1 reporter asked the security personnel why they are limiting movement in front of the Parliament building, they said: “tensions are high, please step aside.”

The veterans sought admission with the Speaker of the House of Representatives Edin Music, but he refused. The Veterans then tried to enter the building, but the police prevented them from doing so. After this, the police started evacuating the staff of this institution from secondary exits.

The veterans demand the publication of a single war veterans’ registry, abolition of the financing of veterans’ associations, and veterans’ allowance.
