Members of Bosnia’s Armed Forces will travel to the US on May 1 to participate in a military drill organized by the Maryland National Guard.

Throughout the drill, Bosnia’s Armed Forces will train their coordination, operative relations, plans and procedures of action in extraordinary situations such as natural and other types of disasters.

Representatives of the Ministry of Defence and of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina will participate as part of the State Partnership Programme between Bosnia and Maryland.

Members of the armed forces of Albania, Montenegro, Croatia, Macedonia and Serbia will participate in the drill as well. They will be able to see how the Maryland National Guard acts and colludes with other US national and federal agencies in extreme scenarios, as well as what rules, procedures, competencies, coordination mechanisms and methods of action are utilized between the military and civilians in such cases.

The drill is to take place in Baltimore from May 6 to May 11, while the preparations will begin on May 2, Bosnia’s Defence Ministry said.
