The analysis of water samples taken from the Sava river showed no indications of contamination or reduction of quality, the Croatian entity for water management, Hrvatske Vode, said on Thursday.

Hrvatske Vode had issued an order to the Brod-Posavina Health Department to take water samples from the Sava river following the toxic spill from the sodium bicarbonate factory Sisecam Soda in Lukavac, a town in Bosnia and Herzegovina, on April 27. The spill had contaminated the Spreca river and went downstream all the way to the Sava river.

According to the latest information from the Main International Emergency Centre in Bosnia, the river pollution in Bosnia is minimized, and the measured acidity values are within the permitted levels.
