Dodik: The Brits are trying to destabilize RS

Srna/ N1

Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik accused Great Britain of plotting against the government of the RS (Republika Srpska), the Serb-dominated semi-autonomous territorial entity in Bosnia, saying many British nationals in the country are "destabilization specialists."

“They are only formal employees of military structures,” Dodik said.

The UK is contributing to the European Union Force, EUFOR, deployed to keep the peace in Bosnia.

“They are specialists who work on social media, traditional media, wiretapping, creating general chaos, and above all destabilizing the RS – it’s all part of their plan,” Dodik said.

“Everything else, including what the British Ambassador says, is just a lie,” Dodik added.

“The British Government approved nine million pounds last year for programmes to counter Russian influence in this region of the Balkans. Their main targets are the RS and Serbia, and you can see how they are doing it.”

Since the end of Bosnia’s 1992-95 war, Bosnia is divided in two semi-autonomous regions. One is dominated by the country’s Serbs and called Republika Srpska. The other is shared by Bosniaks and Croats and called the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Dodik is advocating a final division into two countries – a concept vehemently opposed by the Bosniaks and by the majority of the international community.

Dodik warned that people in the Balkans should be aware that they cannot count on the benevolence of the British.

“They are trying to create a unified and centralized Bosnia and Herzegovina (…)”, Dodik stressed.

Dodik also said that he does not want migrants in the RS, and that migrant numbers in the country are five times higher than stated in official figures.
