This year’s Exit music festival will open on the Petrovaradin fortress in Novi Sad on Thursday evening and N1 will have a live feed of the opening featuring Ukrainian ballet dancer Sergei Polunin on its web site as of 10:45 pm.

Polunin will perform on the festival’s main stage with the Almazian Symphony orchestra headed by Armenian violinist Khachatur Almazian.

The Almazian Symphony said it was “happy to announce that it will perform at the opening ceremony of the EXIT Festival for the 3rd time” and recalled that it performed at the closing of EXIT in 2008 and pre-opening in 2015.

According to the Almazian Symphony Facebook page, it is an all-female string orchestra whose 25 musicians play classical, movie music and international hits.

Polunin is a dancer, actor and model with dual Ukrainian and Serbian citizenship who has performed at the Royal Ballet in the UK and Bolshoi Theater among others and has appeared in several films.

This year’s festival is being held under the motto Exit Freedom. The festival is scheduled to close on July 15.
