The Turkish Embassy to Bosnia and Herzegovina said they managed to slow down the value drop of the Turkish Lira (TRY) through timely action. According to the recent BBC report, the TRY dropped 30 percent compared to USD and the Turkish stock market plunged 17 percent.

“As a result of the recent intensive attacks against our economy, we recorded a decline in the value of our national currency the TRY. Accordingly, the authorities took certain steps to suppress the influence of the aforementioned attacks. The impact of these attacks on our country’s strong economy has been weakened due to effective measures that came into force immediately after the attacks began,” The Embassy said.

“The competent authorities continue to carry out the necessary activities to enable the situation to normalize as soon as possible.”

The Embassy added that with its strong economy, Turkey will continue to be the guarantee of prosperity and stability of the region and beyond. Turkey will continue to provide a resolute contribution to the development of Bosnia.
