Bosnia’s Foreign Minister said the Ministry had no information that Bosnian lawmaker Nikola Spiric and his family would be sanctioned by the US.

“I heard of that last night, my self. As far as I could tell, it’s an activity conducted under the special US law which they use against persons engaged in extreme cases of corruption. The decision was signed by the Secretary of State Mike Pompeo,” Igor Crkadak said during the press conference.

The US State Department said on Monday that it has banned Bosnian Serb lawmaker Nikola Spiric and members of his immediate family from entering the US over Spiric's alleged “involvement in significant corruption.”

He denied allegations that he was the one who drove Drasko Stanivukovic to Celinac. Stanivukovic is Crnadak’s Party of Democratic Progress (PDP) candidate for Banjaluka Municipal Council at the general election who said he was allegedly attacked by the Republika Srpska entity President and his security team in Celinac during the laying of the cornerstone for a local bridge.

Drasko Stanivukovic then said that he recorded the exact moment when the Republika Srpska entity President Milorad Dodik, physically assaulted him. Stanivukovic posted the video on his Facebook profile.

He added that RS Interior Ministry Dragan Lukac’s allegations concerning this incident are not true.

“It is very dangerous that the RS Interior Ministry is lying. Such a person should never be allowed to be a minister,” the Minister stressed.

According to Crnadak, Lukac “threatened two children who were dealing with a certain form of activism” and called on him not to do it again.

“I came to Celinac to visit two children who were mistreated by Lukac’s men and Dodik’s security, who held them for hours,” Crnadak confirmed.
