Prosecutors have indicted eight members of the Bosnian Army and the Bosnian Croat forces of war crimes against 20 Serb civilians, whom they have allegedly illegally detained, physically and psychologically tortured and sexually abused in the northeastern area of Lukavac.

Two of the victims died as a result of the abuse, the indictment says.

Prosecutors said the victims were “tortured and abused in especially humiliating ways, were injured physically and psychologically,” and suffered other “inhumane acts” committed on them.

The suspects were members of the Territorial Defense and Military police of Lukavac, near Tuzla, and the Croat Defense Council in Modrac.
