Throughout the holidays and the few days into 2019, already some 30,000 people have been skiing, boarding or otherwise having fun on Jahorina, the mountain near the capital where the 1984 Olympic women's alpine skiing competition took place.

The destination offers numerous activities for young and old visitors. Staff at the Olympic Centre (OC) Jahorina is maintaining the ski tracks thanks to a new artificial snow system. Visitors can ski and snowboard by night as well, while children can enjoy a ‘ski daycare’.

Turnover at Jahorina was worth more than 1.6 million BAM over the past days, OC Jahorina said.

OC Jahorina also said that it expects all capacities to be filled this weekend and, pending good weather, all vertical transport facilities to operate.

Nighttime skiing takes place from 6 pm to 9 pm at the Poljice ski lift. Ski kindergartens ‘Poljice’ and ‘M:tel’ in the Paradise Valley also offer children of all ages snow sledging on a plastic surface over the weekend.

Instructors of the ski school “Olympic Centre” offer lessons in skiing and snowboarding while locals and guests from the region can enjoy concerts and other forms of entertainment.
