Bringing the world closer together and avoiding a trade war might be the biggest topics occupying the participants of the World Economic Forum in Davos, said former Bosnia's Foreign Minister Zlatko Lagumdzija, who will be one of the speakers at one of the panels.

“My main thesis is to say that Bosnia and Herzegovina has, nevertheless, something to offer to the world,” Lagumdzija told N1, live from Davos.

“Maybe the biggest topics discussed here is how to bring the world closer together, how to dodge a trade war… You have practically no one here to discuss what's happening in our country, even in the region,” said former Bosnian senior official.

The forum shows, Lagumdzija said, that “the small players can act globally if they something to offer.”

“We can attract investors here to come to Bosnia and Herzegovina and we can also be a positive story. I am using this chance to meet many people, to present the image of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” he added.

Top business and political leaders of the world met in the Swiss Alpine town this week to discuss and shape the global, regional and industry agendas.

This year's participation in the event was cancelled by some of the key players, including US President Donald Trump, UK Prime Minister Theresa May and French President Emmanuel Macron. Chinese and Indian top officials also called off the trip to the forum due to developments in their respective countries.
