A unique medal that will be handed over to the best young athletes of the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) 2019 was presented on Tuesday, a few days before the opening ceremony.
The medal is shaped like a snowball and it comes in three colours – gold, silver and bronze. Its designer Saira Imamovic says it posed a challenge to come up with something very original.
“It was hard to translate a technical solution into the product but we put great efforts and it resulted in unique, impressive medals,” said Imamovic.

The solemn opening and symbolic lighting of the flame of peace will take place on February 9 at the Olympic Stadium Kosevo. The competitions will be held at various locations in two host cities, Sarajevo and Istocno Sarajevo (East Sarajevo) from February 9 through February 16.
