US Ambassador meets top Republika Srpska entity officials

US Ambassador to Bosnia, Eric G. Nelson, met with the Prime Minister and President of Bosnia's Republika Srpska (RS) entity and where all three officials noted the importance of improvement of economic conditions in this Serb-dominated entity.

The RS Prime Minister Radovan Viskovic noted the importance of overcoming the standstill in implementing the reforms and infrastructure projects as well as the cooperation with international financial institutions, such as the International Monetary Fund.

Nelson and Viskovic concluded that improving the RS’ business environment and implementing new reforms is essential for the entity's general development and local and foreign Investors.

In a meeting with the RS President Zeljka Cvijanovic, the RS President noted the entity's dedication to continuing the socio-economic reforms with the aim of improving the RS’ business environment.

“Respecting the democratic principles and implementing the electoral will of Bosnian citizens, meaning the formation of the state level government, is a precondition for the legitimate functioning of State institutions and effective implementation of European integration reforms,” Cvijanovic said.

Cvijanovic and Nelson also talked about the current political and economic situation in the RS and the country, as well as the improvement of cooperation between the RS and the US.
