Head of states of the Western Balkans arrived in Tirana on Wednesday for a new summit within the Brdo-Brijuni process, an initiative created in 2013 to push the region forward to the integration into the European Union.

Bosnia is represented in the meeting by members of Bosnia's tripartite Presidency Milorad Dodik and Sefik Dzaferovic. Zeljko Komsic, the third Presidency member, will be represented in the event by his advisor.

Speaking to N1's reporter, Dodik said it was very good that the summit is continuously held and that it already gave serious results.

Bosnia and Albania do not have any open issues but their cooperation needs to develop, said Dodik current Presidency Chairman.

Bosnia's officials will meet during their stay in Tirana with Federica Mogherini, the head of EU's diplomacy. Dodik said that the country, unfortunately, did not obey the promises the Presidency members gave during their official visit to Brussels earlier this year.

“A broad, open possibility of EU issuing its opinion on Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding its further accession to EU by end of May has been jeopardised by the fact that we failed to meet a part of the agreement we reached with EU leadership, which primarily refers to government formation,” said Dodik.

A group of citizens led by radical movement ‘Self-determination’ gathered in Tirana late afternoon near the Albanian Presidency building to express discontent over the arrival of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Bosnia's Dodik.

They were carrying banners with the two officials’ photos and slogan persona non grata.

Dodik briefly commented on the protest, saying it was their right to stage one.

“People have the right to protest, and as you can see I am still here.”

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said Albania was a free country but that the guests were also welcome.
