Sarajevo 'Bentbasa Cliff Diving 2019' gets new winners

The fifth "Bentbasa Cliff Diving 2019" sport and tourist event got its winners Saturday with a Serbian diver Dragan Milnovic from Uzice winning the traditional “swallow” discipline, and an American diver American Laura Rose Dauffenbach winning the high diving discipline.

The event which took place in Sarajevo, on the coast of the Miljacka river, running through the city, competitors from Serbia, Slovenia, USA and Bosnia competed in the said two categories.

The dives were made from a makeshift 18.5 meters high platform, and the depth of the diving area was between 3.5 and 4 meters.

 The interesting thing about the competition is that both disciplines were mixed categories with men and women both competing equally.

Special guests of the competition included three-time Red Bull Cliff Diving Champion, Gold Medal Winner of the recently held World Championships in South Korea and currently leading Red Bull Cliff Diving of 2019 Rhiannan Iffland from Australia, and Jonathan Paredes from Mexico, the 2017 Red Bull Cliff Diving World Champion, South Korean bronze medalist, winner of the first Red Bull Cliff Diving competition in Mostar and currently the runner-up in this competition.

The event was organized by the Association for the Promotion of Sport and Tourism “SporTur”, and general sponsors were the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Sarajevo Canton, the City of Sarajevo and the Municipality of Stari Grad.
