Any kind of violence against the LGBTI community is unacceptable, but no one has the right to present something that is not normal as normal, leader of the strongest Bosniak party, the Democratic Action Party (SDA), told N1's Amir Zukic Wednesday when asked to comment on the first Bosnian Pride march held last Sunday in Sarajevo.

“Everyone has the right to be what they are… but we have the right to defend our system of values,” Izetbegovic said, adding that “there's nothing worse than violence against people who were born with some kind of problem and are facing daily discrimination.”

asked if he would support the law allowing same-sex couples to adopt children he said:

“I'm a believer. I believe God is all-knowing and absolute. I believe that on cannot say ‘God knows everything, but he made a mistake here and we'll fix that’. For me, as a believer, God is right and the Holy Book is above the law.”
