Foreign embassies in Sarajevo welcomed a new set of reforms that two Bosnia's entity governments adopted in separate sessions on Thursday, assessing that this decision was of “vital” importance towards a better life of citizens in the country.

A joint statement issued by the Embassies of the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Federal Republic of Germany said that the adoption of the reform commitments by the Federation's and Republika Srpska's entity governments was a “positive step” towards that goal.

“These include steps to improve the business environment and stimulate growth and competitiveness; to depoliticise state-owned enterprises; to reform the healthcare system; and to provide better opportunities for youth, women and other vulnerable groups,” said the statement which welcomed the fact that the two governments coordinated this important step.

“It is vital that governments in Bosnia and Herzegovina proceed with implementation of reforms to improve the lives of its citizens,” they said.

The embassies also called for government formation at all levels, so that this important work can continue.

A year after the general election, Bosnia still has not formed a new state-level government and the government of its Federation entity.
