RS opposition politician: Bosnia's Reform Programme is treason of Serb entity

Now there is no doubt that Milorad Dodik, Bosnian Serb leader and Serb Presidency member, is leading the Serb entity to NATO, Bosnia's Foreign Trade Minister and top Serb-opposition politician Mirko Sarovic said Friday, commenting on the leaked Reform Programme.

This is the biggest treason of the Republika Srpska (RS) entity in the past 20 years, Sarovic told the BN television. “There is no doubt that the document I saw today leads to that.

“The document called the ‘Reform Programme’ clearly states that Bosnia will abide by the Parliamentary Assembly and the Presidency's decisions, meaning those decisions that will take us to NATO. The Euro-Atlantic integrations and NATO are mentioned over 50 times in the document,” the minister said adding:

“Non-prospective military assets won't belong to local communities but the Defence ministry, as will the prospective assets and property. Entity military neutrality is never mentioned.”

Opposition parties from Bosnia's Serb-dominated Republika Srpska (RS) entity have made the ‘Reform Programme’ which Bosnia is sending to NATO instead of the Annual National Programme (ANP), available to journalists, Friday.

The 25-page document deals with key issues for Bosnia's defence and security sectors and talks of Bosnia's continued cooperation with NATO and names NATO accession as one of its key foreign policy goals.

NATO is still very unpopular with Serbs in both Serbia and in Bosnia's Serb-majority semi-autonomous entity of Republika Srpska since the alliance launched airstrikes against the Bosnian Serbs during the 1992-95 Bosnian war and against the Serbian military in 1999 during the conflict between Belgrade and ethnic Albanians in Kosovo.

The Reform Programme is a document agreed upon by all three Presidency member as a compromise to the Annual National Programme (ANP) which was supposed to be sent to NATO but was objected by the Serb Leader, Milorad Dodik.

The ANP is a document which would activate the country's Membership Action Plan for NATO.
