US authorities welcomed the steps Bosnia took to return its nationals from Syria, urging others to follow this example.

“We thank Bosnia and Herzegovina for repatriating 25 individuals, both foreign terrorist fighters and family members, from Syria. We encourage others to follow and repatriate, prosecute, rehabilitate, and reintegrate their citizens,” State Secretary Mike Pompeo tweeted.

Seven suspected ISIS fighters alongside six women and 12 children arrived in Sarajevo on Thursday evening on an unscheduled flight. Five of the seven were directly taken to the State Court for a hearing while other two were questioned by the state police as there was no Interpol arrest warrant issued for them.
