Bosnia's Foreign Ministry starts implementation of goals from Reform Programme

The Foreign Ministry has started the active implementation of obligations stemming from the Defence Review of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the part that falls under the jurisdiction of this institution, the ministry said on Monday.

The ministry also said it has formed task groups that are in charge of the implementation of the goals set by the 2019-2020 Reform Programme. 

Minister Bisera Turkovic recalled that the document was recently accepted by NATO authorities in Brussels.

“This document is believed to be fully operative and NATO expects Bosnia and Herzegovina to fully implement it, i.e. to meet what Bosnia and Herzegovina obliged to by sending this document to NATO seat in Brussels. NATO Political Committee accepted the proposed Reform Programme in its conclusions from January 16, 2020, and NATO representatives will not be declaring on it but will actively be following its implementation,” said the statement.

The ministry called on all competent institutions in the country to start the implementation of the goals set by the document, in order to timely inform the public and NATO officials about the achieved progress.

“The Ministry would also like to inform the institutions that are participating in the Commission for NATO Integration Process that this commission will resume the regular activities in its scope of work, and it urges the institutions that delegated its own members for this body to send a timely note if they have made changes to their representatives in the commission,” said the ministry.
