The Crisis Headquarters of the Health Ministry of Bosnia’s Federation (FBiH) region asked on Sunday all seniors to avoid leaving their homes and using public transport if not necessary due to the danger of the coronavirus spreading, while the FBiH Administration for Inspection Issues warned businesses that any “unreasonable” price gouging will be sanctioned.

“It is also recommended that older persons skip routine check-ups and visits to the doctor's office and hospitals unless they urgently need health care,” the Crisis Headquarters said.

The FBiH Inspection Issues Administration appealed to businesses and distributors selling certain goods to take into account “the standard of living of the citizens and the stability of the market” when setting prices.

“We warn that all abuses that breach the rights of the consumers and conditions for freely setting prices and all unreasonable price gouging in light of the increased demand caused by the fear of the citizens and the declaration of the global coronavirus pandemic will be sanctioned,” the institution said.
