Norway promises financial aid to Bosnia amid Covid-19 crisis

Norwegian Ambassador to Bosnia promised 7.5 million krona in financial aid in alleviating the effects of the crisis caused by the Covid-19, Foreign Minister Bisera Turkovic's office said in a Thursday statement.

Minister Turkovic held a video conference with 75 ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions in Bosnia during which she informed them of the measures taken by Bosnia's authorities and answered their questions related to these measures.

She informed her interlocutors of the temporary border closure and the closure of all airports in the country, with the exception of cargo traffic and travel of foreign diplomats.

After the EU Special Representative to Bosnia informed all the interlocutors with the EU's decision to donate €7.5 million to Bosnia for the fight against the spread of Covid-19, the Norwegian Ambassador said her government will donate 7.5 million krona (some €640,000) for the same purpose, through UNDP in Bosnia.

According to the Foreign ministry's office, Azarbaijan also promised help for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
