Cerkez: Bosnia will see more COVID-19 patients but it will be under control

Bosnia is about to see a constant increase in the number of patients infected with the novel coronavirus, but everything will be under control, assistant health minister of Bosnia's Federation entity and member of Federation's crisis management group Goran Cerkez told N1.

“We are also entering the phase when the World Health Organisation (WHO) advises the mass testing of health workers. We'll see if we will introduce drive-in or some other method. But let's say it is drive-in testing, even then not everyone will be able to get tested,” he stressed, adding that the testing procedure has to be medically indicated and that this is an important link.

There is no lack of tests, according to Cerkez, all preparations started early and now is time to enter a new stage of the fight against the pandemic.

“Nobody was prepared for this, you could see how the healthcare systems across the world are collapsing. China reacted in the best way, if only everyone could copy their approach,” said Cerkez, adding that nobody wishes to see Italy's scenario.

“At one moment we will see the increase in numbers, we're about to enter that phase. We're heading towards that but it will be under control,” he added.
