The OSCE Mission to Bosnia provided protective equipment consisting of 1,000 face shields and hand sanitizer for country's Border Police in Sarajevo, on Wednesday.

Head of OSCE's  Security Co-operation department Dr. Susan Penksa, handed over the donation to Radisha Samardzija, Chief of Staff and Ismet Taslaman, Acting Head of the Administration Department at the Bosnia's Border Police, the OSCE's statement said.

The donation is part of OSCE's wider initiative to support Bosnia in its pandemic response, they said.

Dr. Penksa emphasized that the OSCE Mission to Bosnia appreciates the efforts of Bosnia's Border Police, whose officers have faced heightened risk conducting their work during the pandemic outbreak.

“As the borders start to reopen, the role of the Border Police officers will remain critical and it is essential that they have the necessary equipment. We hope that this donation will help them in performing their everyday work in a safe manner,” Penksa said.
