Exhumation in eastern Bosnia discovers remains of at least one victim

Mortal remains of at least one person were found in a forest near Bratunac, eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina, which are believed to belong to Bosniak victims of the 1992-95 war.

The staff of the War Crime Department at the Prosecutor's Office are conducting the exhumation works on the site under the supervision of the Missing Persons Institute and forensic doctors.

The remains will be sent for further forensic processing to determine the victim's identity through DNA analysis.

The process is led by the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
