A mass grave containing the remains of at least three victims believed to be Croats was discovered Thursday near the town of Bugojno in central Bosnia, the Missing Persons Institute said in a statement.

“So far, the bodies of at least three victims have been spotted in this mass grave, and based on the documents found next to the remains, there are clear indications that the victims are of Croat nationality who disappeared in 1993 in the Bugojno area. The exact number of victims buried in this grave will be known after the exhumation is completed,” the Missing Persons Institute said.

The remains were discovered last week during construction works on a private property,
