CNN's Henderson: Democrats see Kamala Harris as 'historic pick' (VIDEO)

Nia-Malika Henderson, CNN's senior political reporter, discussed the current political developments in the US and ongoing election campaign with N1's Ika Ferrer Gotic. The public in the US, according to Henderson, is divided on the nomination of Kamala Harris as Joe Biden's running mate with the Democrats believing that Harris was a “historic pick.”

“She's the first African-American woman to be nominated or should be soon nominated for the vice-presidential role. She's the first Asian-American woman as well. So there's a great deal of excitement of the history of this moment among Democrats,” she said.

According to Henderson, Harris looked very “presidential” when her nomination was officially announced in Delaware a couple of days ago by Joe Biden.

“And he lauded her, lauded her for her fighting spirit, her passion so that she would wanna go to work immediately for the middle class in this country, and those who can't even get into the middle class because of the way the economy is shaped right now,” she added.
