Dodik writes to Trump: Bosnian Muslims demonize Serbs causing wrong perception

N1

The US has a wrong perception about Serbs which was imposed to the US President and his closest associates by 'Bosnian Muslims' whose associations constantly slander and demonize Serbs, Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik said he wrote in a letter to US President Donald Trump.

According to Srna news agency, Dodik stressed the importance of writing to Donald Trump directly, in order to inform him of some important issues from the perspective of the Bosnian-Serb entity called Republika Srpska (RS).
Following the 1992-1995 war in Bosnia, the country was subdivided into two semi-autonomous entities – the Serb-dominated RS, and the Bosniak-Croat shared Federation (FBiH). This left the country with weak central government and further divided the office of the President into a tripartite Presidency, consisting of members from each of the three constituent peoples.

In his letters to Trump, the Serb member of Bosnia's tripartite Presidency said he presented the RS’ positions on several occasions.

Dodik said his support for Trump is based on the fact that the US President said on several occasions that his policy is the policy of non-interference in internal issues of other countries.
Milorad Dodik is known for his secessionist rhetoric and claims of the RS’ independence and eventual merger with Serbia. He was placed on the US’ black list in 2018 for who “posing a significant risk of actively obstructing the 1995 General Framework Agreement for Peace.”
