Islamic Community urges Bosnian authorities to reconsider Covid measures

The adopted measures aimed at preventing the spread of Covid-19 are not giving the wanted results either because they are inadequate or because they are not being implemented, the Islamic Community urged Bosnian health authorities Monday following a record number of fatalities reported over the past 24 hours.

“Not only is the Covid-19 pandemic not subsiding, but it causes more concern every day. Health workers are near exhaustion and they fear they might start bursting at the seams,” the Islamic Community warned. “At the same time, we understand the those infected and their wish and expectation to receive help, to be provided adequate protection and to receive the treatment they need. Therefore we urge the competent state authorities to reanalyze their preventive measures and to reconsider whether they are as adequate.”

They also appealed to citizens to take the dramatic situation in the country extremely seriously and to further engage in protecting themselves and others from the ravaging virus, even more than is required of them.
