Migrant suspected of the murder of a Sarajevo local arrested in Belgrade

Serbian police arrested a Morrocan migrant suspected of killing a Bosnian man last week in Sarajevo, the country’ Interior Ministry said on Thursday.

Three migrants are suspected of killing Jasmin Berovic and injuring two other locals in a brawl that was reported in Sarajevo's Ilidza neighbourhood on the evening of November 17.

According to the statement by Serbia’s Interior Ministry, the suspect was located in a hostel in Belgrade where he was hiding and waiting for an opportunity to escape to another country in the region.

The arrest is the result of cooperation between police in Serbia and Bosnia, the statement said.

The suspect was placed into detention for 48 hours and the procedure of his extradition to Bosnia is ongoing.
