Trying to build up Bosnia by denying its Serb-majority entity of Republika Srpska (RS) is a “sure way to destroy Bosnia and Herzegovina and invite violence and war,” Serbia’s Interior Minister, Aleksandar Vulin, said on Saturday.

Vulin’s statement comes after Bosnia’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Bisera Turkovic, said that the abolishment of the RS should be something that is done “by the will of the people, and of course support from abroad.”

He said that “any agreement with the Serbs is possible, but not violence.”

“It is difficult to explain why the SFRY was broken up and Bosnia and Herzegovina was not, and it is even harder to explain that (Albanians) can try to get a state in Kosovo and Metohija, and Serbs cannot in Bosnia … Everything that is allowed (to Albanians) will have to be allowed to Serbs,” he said.

Vulin said that if Bosnia’s Foreign Affairs Minister does not accept the setup of her own state according to the Dayton Peace Agreement, then “why would Serbs accept Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
