BiH special police Chief Inspector charged with obstruction of justice

Bosnia's Organised Crime Prosecutor charged the Chef Inspector of the country's special police force of obstruction of justice, Tuesday, stating he ordered the arrest of J.S.D. without Court's knowledge.

“The accused Vahidin Sahinpasic issued an order to State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) employees to locate and detain J.S.D. without following internal procedures, and without the knowledge or order of the competent Prosecutor and the Court, as acting Head of the Criminal Investigation Department of SIPA, in the rank of independent inspector,” the Prosecution's statement said adding that the said events took place on August 30, 2017.

According to the Prosecution's statement, Sahinpasic is charged with illegally depriving another person of freedom of movement and using threats, intimidation, promising and offered illicit benefits in order to induce them to give false testimony in criminal proceedings.

Thus, the say, Sahinpasic allegedly committed the criminal offence of Unlawful Deprivation of Liberty under Article 147, Paragraph 1 of the CC BiH and the criminal offence of Obstruction of Justice under Article 241, Paragraph 1 of the CC BiH.
