Closing down of the migrant camp 'Lipa' in Bosnia's northwest, initially set for Friday, has been postponed for the third time – this time for Monday, according to the camp staff.

The camp shutdown has been postponed again on the request of the competent institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The stance of the local authorities in the northwestern Una-Sana Canton (USK), where the shelter is located, remains unchanged – they refuse to accept the migrants back in the urban zone of Bihac and in the camp ‘Bira’ which was closed on September 30.

Canton's prime minister Mustafa Ruznic and Bihac mayor Suhret Fazlic reiterated they would not give their consent for the camp reopening for, as they said, security reasons.

The solution is expected from the state authorities, precisely the Council of Ministers, which should find a shelter for over a thousand of migrants currently staying at the Lipa camp.
