HDZ BiH increases lead in Mostar election

HDZ BiH has increased its advantage ahead of the pro-Bosniak Coalition for Mostar after 81.33% of ballots have been counted following Sunday's election while president of the Croat National Assembly (HNS BiH) Dragan Covic has written to European leaders calling for help in addressing election fraud.

The Central Electoral Commission updated the results of Sunday's local election in Mostar at 3 pm on Tuesday, indicating that HDZ BiH has won 14,878 votes on the city list or 36.27% of the vote.

Councillors are elected from one single city slate and six district slates. HDZ BiH is currently in the lead followed by the Coalition for Mostar, led by the Bosniak Party for Democratic Action (SDA), with 29.71% of the vote or 12,188 votes.

The BH Bloc made up of the Social Democratic Party BiH and Our Party won the favour of 5,050 voters while the Croatian Republican Party received 3,111 votes.

The Serb coalition Let's Stay Here – Together for Our Mostar will also enter the Council, after receiving 1,836 votes.

A check of election material began on Tuesday after several irregularities were identified.
