New Russian ambassador takes over Sarajevo office

Newly appointed Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Kalabukhov presented on Friday the letter of credence to a Bosnia's Foreign Ministry official, marking the beginning of his term in the country.

Kalabukhov is replacing ambassador Petr Ivantsov after he performed the duty for six years.

He presented the letter of credence to Head of Department for Diplomatic Protocol, Mirsad Besic.

The new ambassador previously worked as deputy head of the Fourth European Department at the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Russia, in charge of cooperation with Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Cyprus, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, Croatia and Montenegro.
