Exactly 108 years ago, on June 28, 1914, the Sarajevo assassination took place. At the time, 17-year-old Gavrilo Princip, a member of the Mlada Bosna (Young Bosnia) organization, assassinated the Austro-Hungarian heir to the throne, Franz Ferdinand.
The event still divides the BiH public, because some celebrate Gavrilo as a hero, while others view him as a terrorist. Also, some historians believe that the Sarajevo assassination was the reason for the First World War.
However, regardless of the divided opinions, it is certain that this event left an indelible mark, not only on Bosnia and Herzegovina but also on world history.
Therefore, it is clear that this story must live, and the best way to do that is a performance that revived the characters of Gavrilo Princip, Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sofia in the role of young actors Deni Mesic, Filip Radovanovic and Fatima Kazazic. From 11 am to 1 pm, they will walk through the centre of the capital and thus remind Sarajevans of 1914.
