According to the Ukraine Weapons Tracker Twitter account, the Ukrainian army received several M69A 82mm mortars allegedly made in Bosnia.

“Yet more weapons are coming to Ukraine from varied and sometimes unexpected countries; footage of Ukrainian troops unpacking three fresh Bosnian M69A 82mm mortars. The source is unclear since they are widely available for export,” the tweet reads.

The mortar in question bears the BNT mark which stands for Bratstvo Novi Travnik, a machinery and hydraulics factory.

During the recent meeting of NATO defence ministers in Brussels, when the meeting of the Group of Countries for Military Support to Ukraine was held, which was also attended by Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of the conclusions was that all countries should provide support to Ukraine, including military support.

Bosnia's Sifet Podzic, the Minister of Defense attended the meeting on behalf of the country, but according to Nezavisne daily, it will not make any decisions regarding possible aid to Ukraine without the decision of the country’s Presidency.

It is still unclear how the arms came to Ukraine or whether they are genuinely Bosnian-made or a copy of the weapon made by the BNT factory.
