The Union of Concentration Camp Inmates of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Regional Union of Concentration Camp Inmates of the Banja Luka Region, and the Association of Concentration Camp Inmates of Prijedor 92 and Kozarac marked the thirtieth anniversary of the crime in the "Keraterm" concentration camp in Prijedor.

Over 3,000 inmates were imprisoned in this camp from the end of May to the beginning of August 1992. The biggest crimes took place on the night of July 23-24, 1992, when around 200 inmates were killed. The Hague Tribunal declared this massacre one of the most horrific crimes committed during the war in Bosnia.

The camp was formed on the site of a pre-war ceramics factory in Prijedor, in premises that were previously used as warehouses for finished products, marked with numbers 1 to 4. On this day, according to former inmates’ statements, the administration and guards of the camp first released exhaust gases and smoke in the so-called “Three,” in order to force the inmates to exit the front door forcefully, and then they killed over 190 inmates of the Keraterm camp on the spot in an organised, coordinated machine-gun fire, Association of Camp Prisoners of BiH said.

“The bodies of the murdered prisoners from the Keraterm death camp were later collected in different mass graves of Tomasica, Stari Kevljana and Jakarina Kosa. To date, 371 murdered inmates of this camp have been recorded.

Dusko Sikirica was sentenced to 15 years in prison before the Hague Tribunal, as was Zoran Zigic to 25 years, Dusko Tadic to 20 years, Predrag Banovic to eight years, Dragan Kolundzija to three years, Damir Dosen to five year, Milojica Kos to eight years.

Dusan Fustar was sentenced to nine years and Dusko Knezevic to 31 years in prison, before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The crimes committed in the Keraterm camp were part of the indictments against convicted war criminals Biljana Plavsic, sentenced to 11 years, Momcilo Krajisnik, sentenced to 20 years, Radoslav Brdjanin, sentenced to 30 years, Mica Stanisic, sentenced to 22 years, and Stojan Zupljanin, sentenced to to 22 years in prison.
