Bosnia's special police force apprehended another war crimes suspect from the Sarajevo Canton, thus continuing the same operation that has been implemented over the past several days, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) said Thursday.

“Continuing the operation from December 7, 2021, in which SIPA police officers apprehended five individuals, today (December 9, 2021) one person was deprived of liberty in the Sarajevo Canton due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they committed the criminal offences “Crime against civilians” and “Crime against prisoners of war” between 1992 and 1994,” the SIPA spokesperson Jelena Miovcic said.

After undergoing criminal processing in the SIPA premises, the suspect will be handed over to the BIH Prosecution.

SIPA arrested five people on Tuesday on suspicion of crimes committed against the Serb population in the area of Hrasnica, Butmir and Sokolovic kolonija.
