BiH Armed Forces strengthening regional cooperation

Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Armed Forces are hosting this year's 14th Conference of Chiefs of Defense of the Balkans on Military Cooperation (Forum B-9). The aim of the conference is to improve the model of military cooperation between the Balkan countries, as well as possible models of responding to security challenges, risks and threats in the region, the Defence Ministry said Friday.

“The conference, which will be held from June 7 to 9, 2021 in Sarajevo, is an extremely important initiative for strengthening multinational military cooperation in the region, which confirms the desire to strengthen regional cooperation between the armed forces, promote regional stability and security, as well as strengthening already established and seeking new mechanisms for cooperation in the Balkan region,” the Ministry said.

The members of the B-9 forum are Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Greece, Romania, Northern Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey.

In addition to representatives of member countries, high-ranking representatives of the NATO Military Committee, the EU Military Committee, the Joint Command of NATO Forces in Naples, the US Force Command in Europe, as well as representatives of observer countries and the highest representatives of the Croatian and Slovenian Armed Forces will take part in this year's Conference, the statement said.
