Bosnia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) held a regular session Thursday, at which the CEC President Suad Arnautovic pointed out that due to the great public interest in the issue of financing of the upcoming general elections, they clearly and loudly make it known that the CEC will act according to the BiH Election Law.

The CEC will make a decision on calling elections on May 4 at 10 am. They recalled that mandatory behaviour is prescribed in connection with the provision of funds for the conduct of elections.
Funds must be provided within 15 days from the date of the decision.

Arnautovic said that the deadline is May 19 this year, adding that there are explicit legal provisions referring to those that prevent voters from exercising their rights.

He pointed out that the CEC is obliged to report such a crime to the competent prosecutor's offices if they believe that a criminal offence related to the election process has been committed.
