BiH Delegation meets EU Home Affairs Commissioner to discuss migrant situation

The delegation of Bosnia's Security Ministry, led by Minister Selm Cikotic, met Thursday in Bihac with the EU Home Affairs Commissioner Ylva Johansson and Head of the EU Delegation to BiH, Ambassador Johann Sattler.

The meeting was also attended by the Prime Minister of Una-Sana Canton Mustafa Ruznic, Mayor of Bihac Suhret Fazlic and the Una-Sana Canton Police Commissioner Mujo Koricic.

Interlocutors discussed the current migrant situation in the country, with special reference to the humanitarian and security situation in the Una-Sana Canton (USK).

Next, Commissioner Johansson and Minister Cikotic will visited the temporary reception centre Lipa, which was established by the joint action of BiH institutions to accommodate someone thousand migrants during the winter period.

On the second day of Commissioner Johansson's visit to Bosnia, talks will continue with Minister Cikotic and leaders of the BiH Border Police and the BiH Service for Foreigners on combating illegal migration and migration management in the country, Security Ministry said.
