Bosnia and Herzegovina is absolutely open for any kind of economic and developmental cooperation with Serbia, there is no doubt about that, Bosnian Foreign Minister Bisera Turkovic told N1 Thursday following Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic's visit to Banja Luka, where he and BiH Presidency Chairman said Serbia wants to improve the cooperation with BiH.

“We also believe that we can resolve open issues through dialogue, and in that sense, we have regular contacts with Serbian officials. All projects that will be of interest to our citizens, including highways, transport connections, railways, free trade, were never in dispute and were never blocked in Sarajevo. On the contrary, many are being actively worked on, including the issue of the construction of the Sarajevo-Belgrade highway,” Turkovic told N1.

During Vucic’s meeting with Bosnian and Republika Srpska entity officials, Dodik said that the RS has never blocked a single project in the Federation (FBiH) entity, while the official Sarajevo continues to block many projects in the RS.
Turkovic objected to this statement adding that she has something to say about it:

“The same policy that continues to says that it’s against conflict, but that it can’t find its interest in BiH has continuously been working on BiH not being functional and successful, for years, blocking European reforms, budgets, projects, and often its institutions, using mechanisms for obstruction wherever it can. They have blocked the return of displaced persons for years, returnees live in an atmosphere of fear in the RS where war criminals are celebrated and the Bosnian language is denied. Every now and then there is an attack on returnees, mosques, etc. They (RS politicians) are saying that they are not comfortable in such a BiH and that we should talk about a peaceful breakup,” said Turkovic.

“I call on them to stop with such policies, to stop with the blockades, obstructions and politicizing so that we can jointly work on our economic and every other kind of improvement, to fulfil the European standards to finish the job of 14 key EU priorities and to move on towards our EU membership. Then we’ll see how nice and comfortable their homeland of BiH will feel,” Turkovic concluded.
