The Bosnian football team ended the first qualifying match against Finland, in Group D for the World Cup 2020, with a draw (2:2).

Finland started the first half-time strong with two chances to score against Bosnia in the first seven minutes of the match. Ten minutes later, the BiH team started playing their own game and looking much better.

Near the end of the first half-time, the Finns had another two opportunities when Teemu Pukki shot but the goalie Ibrahim Sehic deflected the ball which then went to Glen Kamara who also shot but Sehic was on top of the job again and the first half ended with a score 0:0.

In the second half, Dragons, as the BiH team is affectionately called, dominated the field. In the 47th minute, Amer Gojak shot just five meters from Finland's goal but missed. Then in the 51st minute, Rade Krunic shot, but Finland's Jesse Joronen caught the ball.

BiH's relentless attacks finally paid off when the ball hit Jukka Raitala's hand and the referee indicated towards the penalty line.

Miralem Pjanic took the responsibility but Joronen managed to deflect the ball which only went so far for Pjanic to kick it back into an empty goal.

Finns came back into the game only three minutes later when Pukki has a clear shot from a seven-meter distance for the score of 1:1.

After a somewhat calm play, Pukky escaped the BiH defence and scored 2:1 for Finland at the 77th minute of the match.

The dragons then managed to score once more at the 84th minute when Miroslav Stevanovic kicked the ball from the edge of the penalty box for the final result of 2:2.

Bosnian national team thus managed to split the points with Finland.
