Bosnia and Herzegovina has recorded 15 new coronavirus cases and no fatalities over the 24 hours, which is the second day in a week that no COVID-related death has been confirmed throughout the country, the healthcare authorities confirmed on Friday.

The new results came from 1,266 lab tests performed on the samples of those who reported infection symptoms.

The Federation entity reported 11 new cases out of 1,006 tests performed and no death. In the Republika Srpska entity, four new cases were confirmed out of 196 tests performed, and no fatalities either. Brcko District reported no death over the past 24 hours and no new coronavirus cases out of 64 tests performed.

All regions in the country have significantly reduced the epidemic measures due to the improved situation with the virus spread.

But, because the country still lacks the vaccines to launch mass immunisation and relies only on either donated quantities or those delivered through the EU-funded programmes or COVAX platform, many citizens took to Serbia to use the opportunity of a free of charge immunisation that this country offered to the neighbouring states.

However, there is still no official data on how many Bosnian citizens have received the COVID vaccine outside the country.
