Several hundred miners gathered in front of the seat of the government of Bosnia's Federation entity on Tuesday, expressing discontent over the employment conditions and warning they will not leave the site until their demands are met.

The miners have halted production in all seven coal mines on the day of the strike.

Their demands include determining the minimum wage of 500 euro, bridging the years of service, and full implementation of collective agreement.

The miners invited all citizens of Sarajevo to join them in the gathering.

Soon after leaving the building to meet the miners in company of special police unit officers, energy, industry and mining minister Nermin Dzindic returned to the office due to safety reasons, sparking outrage among the demonstrators.

“Minister is afraid of decent people, they shouldn't be afraid”, they shouted.

The miners refuse to enter the government building to meet the competent authorities but want them to meet outside. They said they won't leave until their demands are met.
