Bosnia’s Archbishop, Vinko Puljic, wished Pope Francis, who is recovering from surgery at the ‘Gemelli’ hospital in Rome, a quick recovery, saying that the religious leader has proven that he is a “sincere friend” of the citizens of BiH.

“I follow the information about your recovery after the operation with great interest and attention through social media. Relying on God’s providence and the expertise of the medical staff, who care for you, I hope that you will recover as soon as possible and return to your responsibilities of governing the Catholic Church,” Puljic said.

“At this time, I would like to convey greetings and prayers, not only in my own name, but also in the name of all Catholics in BiH, their bishops and priests, monks and nuns, and – I believe – all other residents of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who in June 2015 had experienced your presence in Sarajevo and recognized a sincere friend in you,” he said.

The Pope is recovering after having half of his colon removed on Sunday.
